2024 Glitter and Glow wrap up

Kingston’s Glitter and Glow Event Shines Bright for Queer Youth.
Held in a queer-friendly atmosphere, Glitter and Glow provided an inclusive space for attendees to express themselves freely and connect with others in the community. With music, dancing, and a range of creative activities, the event embraced the joy of individuality and the power of self-expression. Young people arrived dressed in colorful and creative outfits, with glitter, face paint, and glow sticks lighting up the night.
This year’s Glitter and Glow holds special significance, as Kingston Youth Services proudly received Rainbow Tick Accreditation earlier this year. The Rainbow Tick acknowledges organizations that demonstrate a commitment to safe and inclusive service delivery for the LGBTQIA+ community. With this accreditation, Kingston Youth Services has affirmed its dedication to providing supportive environments where young people of all identities feel safe and valued.
Attendees enjoyed a fun-filled evening in an environment that champions inclusion and acceptance. Many participants expressed their gratitude for the safe space, where they could be themselves and connect with others in the queer community. The event also featured resources and support services for LGBTQIA+ youth, ensuring attendees had access to guidance and assistance if needed.
Glitter and Glow continues to be a highlight in Kingston! Empowering young people to celebrate their individuality and feel proud of who they are in a space designed for acceptance, pride, and solidarity.
