Pride Connect
Pride Connect has been designed for LGBTQIA+ young people aged 18 to 25.
This is a safe, inclusive, and confidential social group. It is a welcoming space for anyone, including those:
- Who identifies as LGBTQIA+
- Has diverse sex characteristics
- Is questioning their sexual orientation or gender identity.
Pride Connect provides a supportive environment for you to:
- Hang out with other LGBTQIA+ youth
- Explore the joys and challenges of being part of the community
- Build meaningful connections.
Eligibility
To join Pride Connect, you must be:
- Between the ages of 18 and 25
- Connected to the City of Kingston (live, work, study).
Not between the ages of 18 to 25? We offer QIK: Queer in Kingston, a social group for 12 to 17 year olds.
City of Kingston are dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming space for all young people. This is regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or sex characteristics.
This commitment is supported by the Youth Services Team undergoing Rainbow Tick Accreditation.
Rainbow Tick Accreditation involves a review of our services and cultural safety for LGBTQIA+ youth. It also considers how we can create a more inclusive environment for our staff and young people.
This accreditation process ensures we're offering the best services that are welcoming to all.
Our team has completed LGBTQIA+ Inclusion education as part of their roles.
