The Strengthening and Raising Healthy Family Program will be delivered by the Kingston Family Support Service staff, and will run consecutively for 8 weeks at the Westall Community Hub.

The purpose of the program is to provide parents with support and education in raising healthy children and families. The weekly sessions will assist parents to undertake positive parenting through mutual respect, assist in developing an understanding of the ages and stages of child development, and learn positive strategies and boundaries that will yield better outcomes in their children’s behaviour, including understanding the importance play and its impact on their emotional, cognitive and social development.

The program is structured to train and educate parents in the implementation of strategies and techniques, that will enable them to understand these crucial stages in their children’s development, increase their community resources awareness and service utilisation.

This program will provide parents with information that will empower them to understand the need for positive parenting and assist them in raising healthy families.

Our next program runs from 1st of May to 3rd of July 2019, Wednesday mornings for 8 weeks.  The sessions are held from 9.30am to 10:45am at Westall Community Hub which is located at 35 Fairbank Road, Clayton South.

Bookings are essential.  Registrations close Wednesday 24 April.  For further information download the Strengthening and Raising Healthy Families Flyer 2019 or contact Kingston Family Support Services on 8551 1202 or cf2fs@kingston.vic.gov.au
