Parent Education Programs & Support Groups


Kingston Family Support Service offers a number of Parent Education Programs & Support Groups throughout the year. These services provide the opportunity to socialise with other parents and carers in the local area, meet with family services staff and participate in regular informative and recreational activities whilst also gaining valuable information, education and support.

Kingston Family Support Service together with Better Men Australia are partnering to bring the Pit Stop Parenting Program for men in 2018. Pit Stop was created by men for men, to get a better handle on what fathers can do to help raise happy and healthy children.

The program will provide strategies to:

  • develop healthy parenting styles;
  • improve family communication and closeness;
  • steer children through stressful stages;
  • provide information and strategies on effective ways to address challenging behaviours;
  • balance life, work and family; and
  • motivate dads to be committed, confident, capable and caring.

Pit Stop has something for every dad with children of any age. The next Pit Stop Parenting Program runs for 6 weeks commencing on Tuesday the 24 April. These sessions are held from 7.00pm – 9.00pm at held at Kingston Council’s Mentone Office. Please download the Pit Stop Parenting Flyer 2018 for further information about this upcoming program.
