City of Kingston’s Youth Services team is now seeking nominations for the 2017 Kingston’s Young Citizen
The City of Kingston Youth Services team aims to celebrate and recognise the value of all young people in the municipality. Award recognition is one way to celebrate the achievements of young people and a way to thank them for their efforts. Kingston’s Young Citizen will form part of Kingston Youth Services’ annual Youth Festival held during National Youth Week.
National Youth Week is an annual, week-long celebration of young people (aged 12–25) throughout Australia. It is a joint initiative of the Australian, State, Territory and Local Governments. It gives local communities the opportunity to recognise and celebrate achievements made by our local youth. Our Awards ceremony will be held on Thursday 20th of April.
Why nominate a young person:
Well the answer simply is why not. Young people once in a while get recognised for their efforts in our community and an official Awards Ceremony led by local council’s is a great way to give the local recognition that our young people deserve.
The aim of our local award is to:
- Showcase young people’s talents, contributions and achievements;
- Celebrate young people’s diversity and the attributes that make young people unique; and
- Promote young people as positive representations in our local community.
Nominations are being taken online at:
If you are hesitating and wondering if you should nominate a young person please call the Youth Services team on 1300 369 436 or if you have any further questions.
