Intergenerational Photography Exhibition
Pictured: Participants, Council Officers and Frank Amato
On Tuesday 26th of September the official opening of the 2017 Intergenerational Photography Exhibition took place at Shirley Burke Theatre. This has been a collaboration piece between young people and older members of our community.
The project began in February 2017 and incorporated regular workshops with professional photographer Frank Amato. Frank was a mentor for the participants teaching basic photographic techniques as well as communicating the importance of telling stories with photography. These skills were used in a practical sense to explore the following themes which were chosen by the participants:
- Perceptions of the Generations
- Sayings and Slogans
It’s not too late to see the Exhibition. The exhibition is open to anyone in the public by visiting Gallery 3 at the Shirley Burke Theatre located on Parkers Road, Parkdale and closes at the end of business on Saturday 30th of September.
We hope you enjoy the viewing as much as we enjoyed the experience.
